How BWFS Works
Black Women For Self creates intentional spaces that center the wellness, rest, and personal growth of Black women, a group often carrying multiple responsibilities without dedicated support. By providing programs, gatherings, and dialogue that prioritize emotional restoration and connection, we empower participants to show up fully in their families, careers, and communities.
The problem we address is the normalization of exhaustion among Black women and the absence of culturally relevant spaces that center their rest, reflection, and personal wellness. Our programming provides intentional opportunities for connection, healing, and self-prioritization.
Our work strengthens community networks, models self-care as essential, and amplifies Black women’s voices. Through storytelling, events, and shared experiences, we foster a culture where wellness and empowerment ripple outward, benefiting not just the women we serve but the broader community they influence.
