Reclaiming Ourselves
Black Women For Self is unique because it centers self-care not as a trend, but as a culturally grounded practice rooted in community healing and sustainability. Rather than offering one-time inspirational experiences, we intentionally create spaces where Black women can slow down, be vulnerable, and build authentic connections with others who share similar lived experiences.
Our approach blends wellness, storytelling, and community dialogue, recognizing that healing happens collectively as well as individually. As a Black woman-led organization created from lived experiences, our programming is deeply responsive to the real emotional and social needs of the women we serve.
Real Impact
Through our Sister Circle Series, we foster deep, meaningful conversations that uplift and inspire. Our Mentorship Program provides guidance and support for young women navigating their personal and professional journeys. With a commitment to Wellness and Self-care, we offer resources and practices that encourage balance and restoration. And through Community Outreach, we extend our impact beyond ourselves, creating lasting change for the collective.
Join us in reclaiming the peace, joy, and fulfillment we deserve.
Wellness
BWFS hosts and participates in wellness events that encourage Black women to nurture their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being on a holistic level.
Mentorship
BWFS, in collaboration with other local organizations, offers guidance, resources, and character development opportunities to young Black girls who are in need of role models.
Sister Circle Series
The Sister Circle Series is a sequence of intimate, in-person conversations. These meetups promote radical self-care by allowing Black women a safe space to vent, learn, share, release, grow, etc., while dissecting various topics that affect us.
Community Outreach
BWFS collaborates with different community organizations to provide resources for Black women in need, such as domestic violence victims, incarcerated women, teenage mothers, etc. During these community outreach events, we volunteer our services, donate goods, conduct workshops, and lead panel discussions that focus on helping them manage their mental wellness by practicing meditation, providing them a safe space to vent, and encouraging them to connect with their inner selves. These workshops aim to help marginalized Black women pour into themselves, navigate the complexities of life, heal from past traumas, and cultivate resilience.
